L.M. Jennings, Psy.D. and Associates

This is a private practice of clinical and school psychology.

The primary clinician is female and is African American. Dr. Jennings is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, in the state of Texas.

Dr. Lesajean M. Jennings received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology in 1995. This program is a collaboration between The College of William and Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk State University and Old Dominion University. An internship in Clinical Psychology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas was completed from 1993 to 1994. Dr. Jennings is a 1990 graduate of Hampton University, in Hampton, Virginia and a 1986 graduate of the DeBakey High School for Health Professions in Houston, Texas.

In addition to the private practice, Dr. Jennings is an adjunct lecturer at The University of Houston - Downtown in the Department of Social Sciences, and a volunteer clinical psychology internship supervisor for Baylor College of Medicine.

She is a past president of the Houston Association of Black Psychologists(1999-2000). She was interviewed for articles in Black Enterprise magazine (October 2000) and in Ebony magazine (April 2001 and November 2001).

Dr. Jennings also appeared on the television program, "Texas Justice", offering live psychological and psychoeducational opinions on a court case.

Dr. Jennings believes in assisting you to achieve your own personal definitions of success and fulfillment. These might be recovering from the experiences of loss, abuse or emotional and/ or physical trauma. Perhaps you wish to develop greater and more holistic senses of self-love and self-respect.

A variety of psychological disorders are treated and assessed, including depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse problems, learning disabilities, psychoses and neuroses.

Dr. Jennings provides psychotherapeutic services and completes psychological evaluations with children, adolescents and adults. She consults with a variety of school districts on emotional and psychoeducational issues.

A variety of insurance plans, as well as the cash fees, are accepted for the services. VISA, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit cards are also accepted for payment.

Sliding scale fees can be negotiated for those with decreased abilities to pay the full fees.
